Visitors to Westmill Wind Farm and Solar Park are welcome.
Westmill Wind Farm is open to visits from schools, colleges, community/local groups, councillors and members of the public by appointment. Trips organised for groups are normally tailor-made, including schools, colleges, communities and societies. Applications can be made at any time, preferably during the warmer season April – October. Booking is essential as our volunteer guides will only be on site at Westmill when visitors are expected.
WeSET, the Westmill Wind Farm sponsored Sustainable Energy Trust, manages these site visits and so far over 11,000 visitors have been to the site. Visitors are shown around by a trained guide and by joining one of our tours you can get to see a wind-turbine up close.
The site is a working organic farm, depending on the time of the year visitors will see a variety of birds and other wildlife. Just remember to stop by the entrance to enjoy the sound sculpture! Every other year there is a major open event at the site, typically running over a week.
